Transport Canada tightens Challenger airworthiness limits, effective 20 September

Transport Canada has revised the Challenger family's airworthiness limits. Airworthiness Directive CF-2026-41 was issued on 21 August 2026 by the Continuing Airworthiness office in Ottawa. It becomes effective on 20 September 2026. EASA adopted the directive on 24 August 2026 for European operators. It reaches every Bombardier CL-600-1A11, CL-600-2A12 and CL-600-2B16 in service.

The applicability covers the entire Challenger 600 family, at any serial number. That is the Challenger 600, 601, 604, 605 and 650. The AD sits under ATA 05, Time Limits and Maintenance Checks. It carries the mandatory Part 2 airworthiness limitations that Bombardier revised earlier this year.

Six current revisions apply. TLMC PSP 605 Revision 41 covers Challenger 600 serials 1004 to 1085. TLMC PSP 601-5 Revision 48 covers Challenger 601 serials 3001 to 3066. TLMC PSP 601A-5 Revision 44 covers Challenger 601-3A and 601-3R serials 5001 to 5194. CH 604 TLMC Revision 35 covers Challenger 604 serials 5301 to 5665. CH 605 TLMC Revision 24 covers Challenger 605 serials 5701 to 5988. CH 650 TLMC Revision 11 covers Challenger 650 serials 6050 and subsequent.

Bombardier's revisions add new tasks and tighten existing ones. Some tasks carry reduced thresholds. Others carry shorter repeat intervals, revised titles or reduced discard times. The AD requires each new or more restrictive limitation to be completed within its own threshold and interval.

Compliance with a superseding Temporary Revision, or with a later approved Part 2 issue, also meets the AD. Challenger owners and their maintenance providers should confirm the aircraft's TLMC revision status with Bombardier before the 20 September effective date. The FAA typically follows Transport Canada on Bombardier limits ADs; a parallel US rulemaking has not yet been published.
