The FAA has ordered inspection of Global 7500 wing slat brackets. Airworthiness Directive 2026-14-01 was published in the Federal Register on 10 July 2026 and becomes effective on 14 August. The rule applies to Bombardier Model BD-700-2A12 airplanes, the type certificate under which the Global 7500 is delivered.
The FAA cited reports of missing or undertorqued fasteners on the slat 2 cove rib 6 bracket. The slats are leading-edge high-lift devices that extend during take-off and landing. The agency states the unsafe condition, if not addressed, could lead to loss of some load-carrying capability, reduced safety margins and loss of structural redundancy in the wing.
The required action is a general visual inspection of the affected fasteners on both wings. Operators verify that each fastener is installed and properly torqued. Where the inspection identifies missing or undertorqued hardware, applicable on-condition corrective measures apply.
The AD adopts Transport Canada Civil Aviation MCAI 2025-01421-T. TCCA is the state of design authority for Bombardier's BD-700 family; the FAA action extends the requirement to US-registered airframes. The docket at Regulations.gov is FAA-2026-3872; the amendment number is 39-23401.
Global 7500 owners should schedule the inspection with Bombardier service centres or authorised service facilities ahead of the 14 August effective date. The Global 7500 entered service in late 2018 on the BD-700-2A12 type certificate. The successor Global 8000 is delivered on a distinct type certificate, BD-700-2A13, and is not within the AD's applicability.
