Bombardier has delivered its first Global 8000 in Asia. The airframer handed the ultra-long-range jet to an undisclosed customer based in Shanghai. The Canadian OEM announced the delivery on 23 June 2026. The handover is the platform's first delivery into the region.
The Global 8000 carries a range of 8,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85. Top speed is Mach 0.95. Cabin altitude is 2,691 ft, the lowest cited in the in-production business-jet segment. The cabin is configured in four zones. The aircraft uses Bombardier's Smooth Flĕx wing.
From Shanghai the platform's range covers nonstop city pairs including New York, Dublin and Sydney. Emmanuel Bornand, vice president of international sales at Bombardier, said the delivery reflected the region's continued appetite for aircraft combining range, speed and cabin comfort.
The Asian delivery follows the first African delivery on 16 June 2026, to Lagos-based BUA Group. That handover positioned a Global 8000 for nonstop flights from Nigeria to Los Angeles, Perth and Tokyo. BUA Group founder and chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu said the platform met the conglomerate's international mission profile. Bombardier president and chief executive Eric Martel called the African handover a significant milestone for both organisations.
Bombardier is expanding in-region support to match. The OEM's Singapore Service Centre at Seletar Aerospace Park is adding a purpose-built 250,000 sq ft facility, with operations scheduled for the second half of 2028. That expansion was announced on 10 June 2026 with a circa SGD 100 million investment commitment. The Global 8000 holds type certification from Transport Canada, EASA and the FAA.
