Gogo Galileo cleared for retrofit on Falcon 7X and 8X
Falcon 7X and 8X owners can now retrofit Gogo Galileo. The FAA and EASA have both approved the STC. Dassault Falcon Jet MRO holds the certification.
The STC covers installation of the Gogo Galileo HDX antenna on the two trijet types. The HDX is an electronically steered, low-profile array. It pairs with the Eutelsat OneWeb low-earth-orbit constellation. Gogo cites reliable speeds of up to 60 Mbps. The product is positioned for the light- to large-cabin segment.
Frederic Cadiou, head of Dassault MRO, framed the decision in customer terms. 'Connectivity has become a core element of the Falcon customer experience, particularly on long-range missions,' he said. Michael Skou Christensen, chief commercial officer at Gogo, said the Falcon 7X and 8X were 'among the most popular ultra-long-range business jets'.
The Falcon 7X entered service in 2007. The 8X followed in 2016, with extended-range tanks and a stretched cabin. Both are trijets and routinely fly transoceanic and Pacific city-pair missions. Honeywell's Aspire 350 satcom is already certified across the Falcon family. The Plane Simple Ka-band terminal was certified for the 7X and 8X last year. The Galileo HDX adds a low-earth-orbit option to the retrofit menu.
The clearance broadens the Galileo HDX retrofit map. EASA validated a Skyservice-held HDX STC on the Bombardier Challenger 604, 605 and 650 earlier this month. Duncan Aviation joined the HDX and FDX installation network on 8 June. With Dassault Falcon Jet MRO now installing on the Falcon 7X and 8X at its own service centres, owners of the two trijet types gain a manufacturer-route option for the retrofit.

AfBAA launches multi-phase study of African business aviation
AfBAA has launched a multi-phase study of African business aviation activity. The African Business Aviation Association announced the project on 15 June. Behavioural-economics and strategic-marketing consultancy Seefeld Group is the lead investigator. Phase one covers fleet analysis, economic analysis, maintenance trends and a review of media perceptions. The scope spans non-scheduled aviation, including business jets, turboprops, helicopters and unmanned aircraft. Initial findings will be presented at Aviation Africa in Nairobi on 9 and 10 September. AfBAA chair Dawit Lemma described the research as 'long overdue' for members and operators on the continent.

TITAN takes PremierFBO fuel supply at PTK, DAY and CVG
TITAN Aviation Fuels will supply all three PremierFBO locations across Michigan and Ohio. PremierFBO has selected TITAN at Oakland County International (PTK), Dayton International (DAY) and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International (CVG). The agreement extends an existing TITAN supply deal at PTK to the wider PremierFBO network. TITAN runs more than 665 branded FBO locations and over 2,100 fuel-acceptance locations globally. TITAN president Robbie Stallings said the relationship reflected 'trust, responsiveness and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional service to aircraft operators'. Owners flying into Detroit, Dayton or Cincinnati now meet a TITAN-supplied ramp at the PremierFBO chain.
