Gulfstream debuts G400 in Europe at Farnborough customer event

Gulfstream's G400 made its European debut on 8 June. The aircraft flew into Farnborough from Washington DC. It arrived for a customer event at Gulfstream's UK service centre. The G400 also set its first city-pair speed record en route.

The transatlantic crossing took six hours and twelve minutes. The aircraft cruised at Mach 0.87 on a 70 per cent sustainable aviation fuel blend. Gulfstream did not publish exact fuel burn or distance figures. The example flown is the first G400 off the production line. Three additional flight-test aircraft are in the certification programme.

The G400 is the smaller large-cabin variant of the GVII family. It carries nine to twelve passengers across three cabin configurations. Two Pratt & Whitney PW812GA engines power the aircraft. Published range is 4,200 nautical miles. Panoramic oval windows and plasma ionisation air purification feature in the cabin. The G400 made its first flight on 15 August 2024.

Gulfstream also showed the G300 super-midsize jet at the event. A full-scale mock-up sat on the Farnborough ramp. The G300 was announced in September 2025. It began flight testing in December 2025. Published range is 3,600 nautical miles at Mach 0.80 or 3,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.84. The in-service G500, G700 and G800 made up the rest of the static display.

Europe is a primary market for both the G400 and the G300. Most flights in the region fall within their published ranges. Scott Neal, Gulfstream's senior vice president for worldwide sales, said the G300 redefined the super-midsize segment. Type certification timing for both aircraft has not been publicly confirmed. Gulfstream has not announced a customer-delivery date for either.

FAA proposes Gulfstream 200 and Galaxy fatigue inspection programme

FAA proposes new fatigue inspections on the Gulfstream 200 and Galaxy fleet. The notice of proposed rulemaking covers all aircraft in both models. The unsafe condition is fatigue damage in principal structural elements. The FAA acted on a CAAI directive of 1 September 2025. The proposed rule would update airworthiness limitations under ATA Code 05. The docket carries number FAA-2026-4652. Comments close on 20 July 2026. Israel Aircraft Industries originally held the type certificate. Gulfstream now manages product support.
