FAA proposes Global 7500 slat-bracket inspection, comments due 15 June

Comments on a proposed Bombardier Global 7500 directive close on 15 June. The notice of proposed rulemaking applies to certain Model BD-700-2A12 airplanes. It would require a general visual inspection of fasteners on the slat 2 cove rib 6 bracket on each wing.

The FAA published the NPRM in the Federal Register on 29 April 2026. The rule was prompted by Transport Canada AD CF-2025-46, dated 2 September 2025. Bombardier had reported missing or under-torqued fasteners on the cove rib 6 brackets common to both the left- and right-hand sides of the slat.

Stress analysis showed that a missing cove rib 6 load path could reduce safety margins and produce a loss of structural redundancy. The proposed action is a one-time general visual inspection. Where fasteners are missing or under-torqued, the rule sets out on-condition corrective actions.

The docket number is FAA-2026-3872. Owners and chief pilots can file comments through regulations.gov before close of business on Monday 15 June. The FAA estimates the inspection at a low labour-hour count, with parts cost limited to replacement fasteners where required.

Transport Canada has also issued Canadian Safety Alert CASA-2026-01, addressing a separate but adjacent spoiler spigot shim concern on Global 7500 serial numbers 70006 through 70133. The two notices flag the same fleet for proactive engagement with the maintenance programme. The Global 7500 entered service in December 2018 and remains the in-production large-cabin variant alongside the newer Global 8000. Once the comment period closes, the FAA can move to a final rule and an effective date.

ANAC and EASA validate Citation M2 Gen2 with Garmin autothrottle

ANAC and EASA have validated Garmin autothrottles on the Cessna Citation M2 Gen2. The clearance opens deliveries of autothrottle-equipped aircraft in Brazil and across Europe. The FAA certified the system in October 2025 and the type entered service in January 2026. The Garmin G3000 autothrottle automatically adjusts engine thrust to maintain target speeds in climb, descent and approach. Customers in the two jurisdictions can now take delivery with the system pre-installed, without retrofit. A Citation M2 Gen3 variant remains in development with a 2027 service-entry target.
