The FAA has issued an airworthiness directive on Bombardier Global aircraft. The final rule was published in the Federal Register on 22 May 2026. It becomes effective on 26 June 2026.
The directive applies to Bombardier Model BD-700-1A10 and BD-700-1A11 airplanes. Those type designations cover the Global Express, Global 5000, Global 6000, Global 5500 and Global 6500. The Global 7500 and Global 8000, which share the BD-700-2A12 designation, sit outside this rule.
The AD follows reports that inappropriate tooling was used to torque the bolts securing the baggage door stop fittings. Under-torqued bolts could allow the fitting to migrate during operation. Over-torqued bolts could yield and fracture under dynamic loads. The FAA states that, if not addressed, the condition could lead to cabin depressurisation should a fitting failure occur.
The mandated action is a torque check of affected bolts. Bolts and nuts must then be re-torqued, re-installed, or replaced as applicable. The rule was prompted by Transport Canada AD CF-2025-28, dated 10 June 2025, issued by the state of design.
For Global owners and Part 91 flight departments, the AD sets a hard compliance window tied to the 26 June effective date. The published rule lists the specific serial numbers in scope, the threshold and grace periods for the inspection, and the acceptable methods of compliance. Owners should confirm with their service provider whether their aircraft is in scope and book the check before the deadline.
