Archived side-by-side comparison from the Freestream library
This comparison covers two out-of-production Bombardier Global platforms that defined the ultra-long-range twin market through the 2000s and 2010s: the Global 5000 and Global 6000. Both share the same Rolls-Royce BR700-710A2-20 powerplant and Vision Flight Deck, and are structurally related variants of the same fuselage. The Global 5000 ran from 2002 to 2019; the Global 6000 from 2011 to 2024.
Both aircraft are succeeded by the Pearl-engined Global 5500 and Global 6500 respectively. This archive entry covers the original BR710-powered production variants as tracked by Conklin & de Decker.
The Bombardier Global 5000 entered service in 2004 as a shortened-range variant of the Global Express, sharing the same Rolls-Royce BR700-710A2-20 engines and Vision Flight Deck. Production ran from 2002 to 2019, with 238 aircraft completed. The aircraft accommodates 13 passengers and offers 5,200 nautical miles seats-full at maximum cruise speed of 511 knots.
