Archived side-by-side comparison from the Freestream library
This comparison covers three heavy long-range platforms spanning the transition from trijet to ultra-long twin architecture: the Dassault Falcon 900LX, Falcon 8X, and Gulfstream G600. The 900LX is a three-engine aircraft; both the 8X and G600 are twin-engine designs certified to 51,000 ft. The 8X entered service in 2016 and remains in production; the G600 received type certification in 2019 and is similarly current production.
Operating cost data is available from Conklin & de Decker for the Falcon 8X and G600. Falcon 900LX cost figures were not unlocked under the Freestream subscription at the time of this archive entry and appear as available on request throughout.
The Falcon 900LX is the long-range development of the Falcon 900 series, introduced in 2010 with winglets and extended range. Powered by three Honeywell TFE731-60-1C engines and equipped with the Honeywell EASy III flight deck. Maximum certified altitude is 51,000 ft; range is 4,600 nautical miles at long-range cruise. The cabin accommodates up to 12 passengers.
